Piggie Park kitchens have been serving the public with great success for over 55 years. Many of the following recipes have been made famous in our South Carolina restaurants.
Chicken, chops, or ribs - marinate in Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce overnight or for several hours prior to cooking. Baste several times while cooking for added flavor.
Steaks - marinate overnight with any of Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauces. While cooking turn steaks only once and brush often with sauce. Additional sauce may be added when served to bring out the richer, fuller flavor of the beef.
Hamburgers - after turning hamburgers (turn only once), brush with Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce. Additional sauce may be added when served on buns to bring out a zesty flavor in burgers.
* Another great way to spice-up hamburgers is to add an 18oz. bottle of Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce to 2 or 3 pounds of lean hamburger meat before shaping into patties or meatloaf. This will not only improve the flavor but will serve as a meat extender.
Crock Pot Barbeque Chicken - place one (cut-up) whole chicken in crock pot. Add 3 cups water, 1 cup Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce, and a dash of salt and pepper (if desired). Cook on low temperature until tender.
Shrimp, Oysters, or Vienna Sausage - Marinate any of the three in your favorite flavor of Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce overnight. Place on a sheet pan and cover with .BBQ Sauce. Bake in oven until tender. This is a delicious new and different idea your friends and family will love and remember.
Hot Dogs - cook in any flavor Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce before serving to bring out a rich new flavor.
Turkey - marinate turkey overnight. Cook slowly, basting often with Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce.
Pork Shoulder - add Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce to meat in crock pot. Cook slowly for a tender, flavorful roast.
Baked Beans - add Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce to beans and mix well. Bake until tender. Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauces adds the barbeque flavor to baked beans without adding fat.
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 egg beaten,
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 slices bread, crumbled
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 to 1/2 cup of your favorite Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce
Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Shape into loaf and place in crock pot. Top with Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce. Cover and set to high for 1 hour, then turn to low for 8-9 hours. (This recipe may be doubled for the 5 quart size crock pot.)
1 "Whole Chicken" cut in parts
1/2 cup drained, crushed pineapple
1 whole Spring onion finely chopped
2 tbsp. honey
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 cup of your favorite flavor Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce
In large shallow glass baking dish place chicken skin side down. Mix together Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce, pineapple, onion, honey, and ginger; pour over chicken. Cover dish with plastic wrap: pierce with fork to allow steam to escape. Put microwave on high for 12 minutes. Turn chicken pieces to skin side up. Cover. Turn microwave on high for 12 minutes before testing. Return to oven for additional cooking if fork cannot be inserted in chicken with ease. Makes 4 delicious servings.
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion
1 tsp. salt & dash of pepper
1 1/4 cups any flavor Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce
Combine ground beef, onion, salt and pepper. Lightly pat into 6 1/2 inch thick burgers. Broil over hot coals about 10 minutes, turning once. Brush burgers with Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce, serve on grilled, buttered buns. Pass remaining BBQ Sauce around while serving.
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
3 tbsp. instant minced onion
1 tsp. salt and a dash of pepper
2/3 cup evaporated milk
Any flavor Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce
In a mixing bowl lightly mix ground beef, crumbs, onion, salt, pepper, and evaporated milk just until blended. Shape into 8 balls. Bake in well-buttered muffin cups 20-25 minutes. Spoon 1 tsp. Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce over each meat ball halfway through baking.
1 12 oz. can luncheon meat
1/2 cup sliced onion
1 1/2 cups of your favorite flavor Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce
Cut one 12 oz. can luncheon meat in thin strips. Cook sliced onion in a little hot shortening until tender. Add Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce and meat strips. Heat to boiling. Spoon over hot fluffy rice. Makes 3 to 4 servings.
Between sheets of waxed paper, roll out thin patties of ground beef (about 1/4 inch). Fill with shredded cheese. chopped onion and a dash of Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce. Top with another thin patty of ground beef and press around edges to seal. Brush with melted margarine and broil, turning once. Season with salt and pepper.
Barbequed Turkey
Over Buns

3/4 cup Maurice's Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce
1 large sliced onion
3 tsp. butter or margarine
2 cups cubed cooked turkey
8 hamburger buns
Saute' onion and 1 tsp. butter or margarine in medium skillet until lightly browned. Add turkey and Gourmet Blend BBQ Sauce. Stir to coat evenly. Cook just until well heated. Spread 2 tsp. butter onto cut surfaces of buns. Toast and spoon turkey mixture over buns.
